“The first game made by myself independently”
Glide is the first game that I’ve developed. It is a 3D spacecraft shooting game with levels, models, codes, and music, all of which are designed on my own. Glide was inspired by many games, such as Hyper Storm and No Man’s Sky.
Players need to control their spaceship with up, down, right, and left, and an extra accelerating function to the front. The left corner is the pause button, and the right corner is the score. The center of the screen is a sight bead that will be made into use in later functions.
Support tools:
Unity & Blender
There are two ways for players to fire:
Press the “J” button to fire two missiles, boasting out with red flames. The rate of fire depends on how fast they press the button. It has small damage judging, low damage, and slow following speed but an incredibly large amount that will create an area of bombardment, slowly destroying the enemy spaceships. Plus, the missile can renounce the enemy’s missile and deal 10x damage to themselves.
Press the “K” button to fire one laser that lasts for a few seconds. It has a fixed firing rate which is much faster than missiles, but higher damage and immediate damage judge on the enemy. Unlike missiles which follow the wings of the player’s spaceship, the laser always aims at the camera’s midpoint, which I make a sight bead to aid the players. Moreover, players can turn their view freely within 135 degrees of the camera. In this way, they can watch out for the fireball as well as other planets, which can either smash the player or block the missiles.Glide is an unity-made game made by myself. It is a science fiction shooting game that has multiple levels, enemies, and fun you can find. I develop this game during summer vacation in the Habby company, along with the help of the senior programmers in the office.
